Poet Ahmet Telli (b.1946) is one of the most recognizably voices of political poetry in Turkey. Ever since his first book, Arson Years (Yangın Yılları, 1979) he has contributed to Socialist realism in Turkish literature, often paying his political stances with censorship and imprisonment.
His literary activity has been awarded the Ömer Faruk Toprak Poetry Prize (1980), the Yazko Poetry prize in 1982, and the Altın Portakal Prize for Poetry in 2012.
Tonight at 19:30 the poet will talk about his own poetics at the Nilüfer Şiir Kütüphanesi, a very young and dynamic library close to Bursa. Everyone is invited!
